When to Use: PM only. Follow with SPF 30 or higher the following morning without exception.

Application Steps:
Cleanse and pat skin completely dry
Dispense 2–3 drops onto fingertips
Apply evenly across the face and neck using light pressing motions; avoid the immediate eye orbit
Allow 60–90 seconds for full absorption
Follow with a night moisturiser if additional occlusion is desired, or use the serum alone for oilier skin types

Do Not Mix With (Same Routine):
AHAs or BHAs — use on alternate evenings to retinol; combining accelerates exfoliation beyond what most skin barriers can comfortably sustain
High-concentration L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C — the formula already contains a stable Vitamin C complex; additional raw L-Ascorbic Acid in the same routine is unnecessary and may destabilise pH balance
Benzoyl peroxide — oxidises and neutralises retinol on contact

Can I use Cyrène Retical Smart CompleX4 Serum in the morning as well as at night?

The formula contains micro-encapsulated retinol which is photolabile and should be used in the PM only. However, the Vitamin C, peptide, and ceramide complexes within the formula would perform equally well in an AM routine — the retinol component is the sole reason for restricting use to evenings. Apply nightly and always follow with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher the following morning.

Is the Retical Smart CompleX4 Serum suitable for combination or oily skin?

Yes. The 5% Niacinamide in the formula directly addresses sebum regulation and pore visibility — two primary concerns for combination and oily skin types. The lightweight emulsion base absorbs without occlusion or shine. The ceramide complex supports barrier function without adding unnecessary lipid load, making this a well-suited choice for oily or congestion-prone skin that still requires barrier maintenance alongside retinol use.

Can I use the Retical Smart CompleX4 Serum if I have a compromised or sensitive skin barrier?

Yes — in fact, the inclusion of the five-component ceramide complex (Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Phytosphingosine, and Cholesterol) makes this one of the more barrier-conscious retinol serums available at this price point. The Madecassoside and Beta-Glucan components provide further anti-inflammatory support. Introduce at two to three applications per week and build frequency gradually. Those with active perioral dermatitis or severe rosacea should seek dermatological guidance before commencing any retinoid.
